INDUSTRY.co.id - Sumenep - Until the end of August 2017, the production of People’s Salt in Sumenep regency increased sharply, as weather conditions in the dry season at this time.
"If the current condition, Alhamdulillah salt production can be maximized, because the weather support.Unlike the beginning of last season last month, several times still rain," said Head of Sumenep Fisheries, Arif Rusdi, Friday (01/08/2017).
Based on reports, people's salt production over the last two weeks has risen sharply. As of the end of August, the temporary number of people's salt production reached 24,517 tons more.
"Whereas before, people's salt production in late July 2017 was only 850 tons, then the next week rose to 4,600 tons, and the end of August jumped to 24,517 tons," explained Arief Rusdi.
He hoped that the weather conditions in the mid to late dry season this year is normal, so that people's salt production can be maximized.
"If weather conditions continue to run normally, peak salt harvest in Sumenep is expected in late September to mid-October 2017," he said.
The Ministry of Marine Affairs and Fisheries aims to produce 368 thousand tons of salt in Sumenep in 2017. In 2016, the production of people's salt in Sumenep is only 17,109 tons from the target of 260 thousand tons.
According to the data in Sumenep Fisheries Department, the people's salt field this year is 2,068 hectares spread in nine sub-districts.
