Indonesian Cotton Day, CCI Meet Indonesian Textile Business Actor

INDUSTRY.co.id - Jakarta - The global non-profit trade association Cotton Council International held the 'Indonesian Cotton Day' event to promote cotton and cotton products from the United States or Cotton USA to 100 leaders of textile and garment companies in Indonesia.

President of CCI Esteve said, Indonesian Cotton Day to present the latest information about Cotton USA to 100 executives from various Indonesian textile factories and to disseminate information for the fashion and textile community in Indonesia.

"CCI offers support to their customers at every stage of the supply chain, from cotton growers and exporters to brands and retailers. CCI reaches more than 50 countries through 20 representative offices around the world, "Esteve said in a press conference at the Ritz Carlton Hotel, Mega Kuningan Jakarta, Wednesday (6/8/2017).

It also hopes that trade relations between Indonesia and the United States continue to grow towards a better, especially in the textile industry sector.

CCI Executive Director Bruce Atherley said American cotton produced more than 18,000 family farmers who had understood the land for decades. The US became the world's third largest cotton producer, representing about 15 percent of the world's total cotton production.

"The US exports 95 percent of cotton and accounts for about 30 percent of the world's cotton production market share," he said

Three Indonesian textile factories using US cotton licensed Cotton USA also showcased its fashion brand. The three factories are PT Apac Inti Corpora, PT Argo Pantes, and PT Lucky Print Abadi.
