Sinarmas Cepsa's Oleochemical Plant Inaugurated Today

INDUSTRY.co.id - Dumai, oleochemical plant which is a joint venture between Sinar Mas with CEPSA today was inaugurated. The plant with an investment value of Rp4, 77 trillion is located in Nerbit Kecil Hamlet, Lubuk Gaung Village, Dumai, Riau Islands.
"This is the first time Cepsa produces non-oil, but plant-based chemicals, new locations, new businesses and new markets," said Sinarmas Cepsa Deputy CEO Jose Maria Solana during the inauguration of the Sinar Mas Cepsa oleochemical plant in Dumai , Riau Islands, on Thursday (09/14/2017).
He added that the Dumai plant has an annual production capacity of 160,000 metric tons of fatty alcohol per year, and will produce fatty alcohols used for cosmetic production, daily grooming products, toothpastes and detergents.
"The main focus of sales from the Dumai plant is the markets in Asia," explained Jose.
According to him, the value of more than the factory is not only lies in the production capacity, but also on the use of the latest technology that can save the use of energy, raw materials and natural resources significantly.
"The Dumai plant has fully operated independently, and the plant is capable of generating its own electricity, processing waste and managing its own logistics," he said.
Previously, Sinar Mas Managing Director G. Sulistyanto said, the latest technology in wood preparation and cooking process can save the use of wood up to 751,000 green tons per year. While the technology in the washing and bleaching process saves water usage up to 38,000,000 m3 per year.
He considered the existence of this plant would send a positive message about the potential of Indonesia's forest-based industry and its ability to operate sustainably.
Furthermore, Sulistiyanto said his existence creates employment for 3,450 people and indirect employment 7,000 people and can continue to grow.
"While the national income that can be achieved later as much as Rp14, 84 trillion per year, with a potential tax of about Rp3, 79 trillion," he concluded.
