INDUSTRY.co.id - Jogjakarta- The use of online technology networks among cooperatives is still low. Only as many as 9,429 or about 12% of the total number of cooperatives that utilize the technology. The barriers to switching to the technology network include ignorance of benefits and a negative view of the effects it brings.
This was conveyed by the Secretary of the Ministry of Cooperatives and SMEs (Sesmenkop and UKM), Agus Muharram in Sriboga Seminar and Expo Culture and Culinary Nusantara at Jogja Expo Center, Saturday (16/9).
He reminded the e-commerce market of Rp 337 trillion with 132 million internet users who become potential consumers. Not many cooperatives are aware of the potential so that there are still few cooperatives that utilize the online network.
Based on the data of the current year 2017, the number of cooperatives recorded in the Ministry of Cooperatives and SMEs as many as 153,170 units with 26,769 million members. The number of cooperatives that have implemented RAT as much as 80,008 units.
RAT reports submitted via online network (through website, email, and social media) as many as 9,429 units or only 12%. Means still 70,579 units using conventional media.
Sesmenkop and UKM remind that economic orientation has experienced paradigm shift as much as four stages, that is agriculture economy, industrial economy, information economy, and creative economy. In order to be able to compete in the current paradigm, the cooperative must change the mindset in terms of design, product telling story, symphony, empathy, game, and meaningful products.
Today, the business scale of father and mother is still micro, small, and medium. Later when I meet again, the scale of business I expect to have to go up the class. The micro so small, the small and medium. And so on, Agus said.
To increase the scale of business, said Sesmenkop and SMEs, micro and small business actors (UMK) must join in a cooperative. Cooperatives serve as bridges for connecting actors with strategic partners (suppliers and distributors) and markets.
Vice Chancellor for Research and Cooperation of Ikopin, Yuanita Indriani said that UMKM perpetrators are still caught in the lack of confidence in change and rejection of cooperatives. The majority of MSMEs are still not ready with something that smells of technology that impact on the quality and quantity of its products.
The strange thing is that they reject the cooperative because it is considered bad, but has never interacted with the cooperative, Yuanita said.
Whereas cooperatives not only strengthen partnerships among members who have similar products, but also help in many things, such as: capital, bargaining position to suppliers, improving product quality, and expansion of marketing.
President Director of Sriboga Flour Mill (SFM), Alwin Arifin said that business actors are required to make improvements, including in the mastery of technology, such as packing and marketing.
If we want to advance, then the product must last long. The packing should be good. If it feels good, we can easily market, said Alwin
