In the event of an eruption spraying volcanic ash, the distribution of the ash does not lead to airport airspace, flight operations at I Gusti Ngurah Rai Airport can still by avoiding the distribution area.

"If people see the sunny weather, it does not mean the airspace around the sterile airport from the layer of volcanic ash in the event of eruption and the wind brings the spread of ash to airport airspace," said Director General of Air Transportation Ministry of Transportation Agus Santoso

The volcanic ash layer can be dangerous for the flight because it disrupts the aircraft engine and disrupts the instrument to erode the airframe that is flying at high speed.

Therefore, the Ministry of Transportation did not want to take risks. If wind direction brings volcanic ash to the airport area, Ngurah Rai airport must be closed.

All that in anticipation and scenario because until now national and international flight routes are still running normally.

To support the smooth transition of the flight to the nearest nine airports from Bali, it prepares about 300 buses to serve passengers at I Gusti Ngurah Rai International Airport to take overland routes to Banyuwangi and Surabaya (East Java), Solo (Central Java), and to Mataram (West Nusa Tenggara).

It has been coordinated with the Provincial Office of Transportation, Denpasar City, and Organda, and Damri.
