10 Alternative Airports Prepared Anticipate Gunung Agung Situation

INDUSTRY.co.id - Denpasar - A total of 10 alternative airports have been prepared to anticipate the impact of eruption of Mount Agung, Bali, since 22 September "watch out" status is enforced.
Director of Indonesian Aviation Navigation Service Provider (LPPNPI / Airnav Indonesia) Novie Riyanto when met by media crews in Denpasar on Tuesday (26/9/2017) mentioned 10 airports, including Juanda Airport-Surabaya, Sultan Hasanuddin-Makassar, Lombok Praya Airport , Adisoemarmo-Solo, Pattimura-Ambon, Blimbingsari-Banyuwangi, Sepinggan-Balikpapan, Kupang Airport, Sam Ratulangi-Manado, and Soekarno-Hatta Jakarta.
"We as the operator of aviation navigation, for contingency or mitigation have prepared, saah the other is 10 alternative airports," he said.
He explained that management-related navigation for aviation has coordinated with the Center for Volcanology of Geological Hazard Mitigation (PVMBG) and Volcanic Ash Advisory Center (VAAC) in Darwin, Australia.
He said the condition is still very safe for flights, including at Ngurah Rai International Airport, Bali.
