INDUSTRY.co.id - Jakarta- President Joko Widodo asked for a modernization of handicraft industry from upstream to downstream so that handicraft products can grow rapidly.
"So that Indonesian handicraft products can really jump, so that the SMEs in the field of handicrafts can advance its business so I ask for a modernization of handicraft industry from upstream to downstream," said President Jokowi in his speech when opening the 2017 Kriyanusa Dekranas Exhibition at the Jakarta Convention Center, Wednesday (9/27/2017)
The President requested the modernization of the handicraft industry starting from efforts to obtain raw materials, processing, manufacturing of finished products, packaging to marketing.
According to the President, all must be seen and done in one package.
"For that I ask the craftsmen, SMEs, do not walk alone, must walk together to build a large group of artisans," he said.
Jokowi said consolidation should be done so that the scale of the economy can be large. Working together is very important, for example a joint workplace to produce. It will be more efficient, it will be cheaper than if we go our own way, "he said.
