INDUSTRY.co.id - Bekasi Regency is a magnet. Its strategic location in the east of Jakarta, the Regency with the capital city Cikarang, became a paradise of investment and business.
So far Bekasi Regency is supported by agriculture, trade and industry sectors. Many manufacturing industries are located in Bekasi, then since 2007 was elected to the International Economic Zone (ZONI) for 7 Industrial Estate in Cikarang).
The seven areas incorporated in the ZONI, namely PT Jababeka, PT Lippo Cikarang, Delta Mas, PT East Jakarta Industrial Park, PT Megapolis Manunggal Industrial, PT Bekasi Fadjar, and PT Hyundai Inti Development Park ZONI promise to reduce the unemployment rate in West Java and Surrounding with employment. ZONI is a combination of 7 industrial areas in Cikarang, Bekasi District.
The realization of ZONI started with the signing of MoU between the managers of 7 industrial estates in Cikarang, which was then followed up with the signing of MoU between the managers of 7 industrial estates in Cikarang with the Ministry of Public Works, the Government of West Java Province, the Government of Bekasi Regency, PT. Jasa Marga (Persero), on the development of road infrastructure to support industrial areas in Cikarang.
Seven Industrial Zones in Cikarang is a potential industrial area considering about 2,125 units of factories coming from 25 countries located in the region. The region is able to contribute 34.46% of FDI, as well as 22-45% of the volume of national exports.
Production from the Industrial Zone reached US $ 35 billion and about 70% of it was exported. In 2005, the region contributed a tax of Rp. 3.4 s / d 6 trillion, and potentially to continue to grow to Rp. 26 trillion until 2015. The area is the largest container shipping location to the port of Tanjung Priok, which is about 62% of the total number of containers entering.
Indeed, economic globalization, in addition to providing challenges, also opens up potential global market opportunities for local and national industry actors. The establishment of ZONI to improve the quality of transportation infrastructure of industrial area of Cikarang Bekasi, can be the entry point of synergy development.
Because building ZONI is an effort to synergize various resources owned by local, national and global economy, developed by applying a special economic zone approach. In other words, through ZONI, public services related to industrial activities such as legal aspects, fiscal and nonfiscal incentives, infrastructure, licensing, customs clearance, immigration, security, employment and other investment-facilitating factors can be served with one roof to be more effective. ZONI or International Zone is a result of the declaration of cooperation made by 7 Industrial Zones located in Bekasi, which consists of PT. Jababeka tbk., PT Lippo Cikarang tbk., PT. Hyundai, PT Deltamas, PT. EJIP, PT. Megalopolis Manunggal Inti Development 2100, and PT. Bekasi Fajar. ZONI aims to build infrastructure cooperation between Industrial Zone and Government more integrated through the division of tasks and authority to build infrastructure with a relatively more cost efficient.
What can be mentioned about ZONI's role in developing Infrastructure area in its effort to support industry in cikarang?
ZONI plays a role for: First, encourage the acceleration of infrastructure development and investment growth in 7 industrial areas and surrounding areas. Second: propose to the government to provide ease of infrastructure procurement to maintain investment climate that is in ZONI, because donation of GRDP given by ZONI is big enough for government. Third: to keep the government amupun private to carry out the obligations that have been listed in the cooperation agreement.
Has the Government paid enough attention to ZONI in the development of regional infrastructure?
The government has provided infrastructure support to ZONI to maintain the current invasive climate, as evidenced by the many obligations that have been completed in accordance with the 2006 MoU MOU agreement. There are even some infrastructure built by the government even though they are not listed in the MOU.
