INDUSTRY.co.id - Jakarta- Secretary of the Ministry of Cooperatives and Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) Agus Muharram hopes that the number of entrepreneurs in Indonesia could increase to 4 percent by the end of 2017.
Based on the economic census data of 2016 BPS at this time the number of entrepreneurs as much as 7.8 million people or 3.1 percent of the population. This ratio is still lower than other countries such as Malaysia 5 percent, China 10 percent, Singapore 7 percent, Japan 11 percent, and US 12 percent.
"This year the number of entrepreneurs if we can grow to 4 percent," said Agus in his official statement on Thursday (28/09/2017).
For that, Agus asked universities to play a role assist the government in Regenerte entrepreneurial spirit, especially among the younger generation. With the increasing number of universities play a role, the future of Indonesia's young generation will be more independent.
"So at least in the future the graduates can help themselves and do not burden the parents and the state, it is the most important, able to open and create business opportunity to others," said Agus.
Agus Muharram, reminded that universities should not only clustered to take a conventional course, but must be keen to see the challenges of the era, so that students are not confined to formal jobs. In this case as "Employees and civil servants," he explained.
In the same place, Coordinator Kopertis Region IV Jabar, Prof. DR. Uman Suherman, hoping lecturers should not only teach, but also must be able to prepare the character of a nation that has confidence and confidence.
