INDUSTRY.co.id - Zhuzhou – Locomotive origin in China, CRRC Zhuzhou Locomotive Co. Ltd. (CRRC ZELC) is exploring the possibility of cooperation of light rail project (LRT) with Indonesia.
"We are continuing to monitor three projects in Indonesia, one of them in Jakarta," said CRC ZELC vice president Luo Chongfu when talking with reporters from ASEAN countries in Zhuzhou, Thursday (28/09/2017)
The development of the three projects implemented under the government-private (PPP) scheme called Chongfu is not encouraging because of the government's constraints.
The Indonesian government, according to him, has a planning that tends to range from 3 to 4 years and uncertainty in terms of funding.
"For transportation projects around the world, funding will be the responsibility of the government, not using the PPP scheme," said Chongfu.
Owning the largest railway transport equipment cluster in China based in Zhuzhou, Hunan Province, CRRC ZELC has built subsidiaries and manufacturing centers in various countries, such as Austria, Malaysia, Turkey, South Africa and India.
By 2016, the value of overseas orders for locomotive products, such as the mass transit (MRT), diesel (DMU), and electric train (EMU) trains reached 15 billion yuan (about Rp30.39 trillion).
