Menperin and Menko Maritim Discuss the Development of Kaltara Industrial Park

INDUSTRY.co.id - Jakarta- Minister of Industry Airlangga Hartarto visited the office of Coordinating Minister for the Ministry of Marine Affairs Luhut Binsar Pandjaitan to discuss the development of industrial parks in North Kalimantan.
"It was discussed the problem of North Kalimantan and South Kalimantan on the development of industrial parks," he said at the Ministry of Maritime Affairs, Monday (17/07/2017)
Airlangga to the media crew said that the meeting with Menko Luhut aims to coordinate the development in the two areas with related parties.
"The principle is to coordinate with the Governor of Bank Indonesia as well as the Investment Coordinating Board (BKPM), which is expected to bring the integrated Kaltara development program and can be developed in quick time," he said.
Airlangga said that there are already Chinese investors interested in investing in Kaltara, namely Tshingshan Group which also invests smelter in Morowali, Central Sulawesi.
"This industrial area will be built gradually, up to 10 thousand hectares with power plants up to 7,000 MW," he said.
Previously, Coordinating Minister for Home Affairs Luhut Binsar Pandjaitan believes Kaltara development will make the new province as economic center because it has electricity supply and smelter industry.
He is optimistic that development in Kaltara can be completed by at least 1.5 years.
"We'll see that the development in Kaltara will take about 1.5 years and I see it will be, I'm sure it's so because the Indonesian investors' returns and Indonesia's decision making process are transparent, they are happy to have investors here so that all can be quickly resolved ," he said
