Kalbe Farma Want to Raise Revenue Through Beverage Products

INDUSTRY.co.id - Jakarta - Pharmaceutical manufacturer PT Kalbe Farma Tbk (KLBF) wants to boost revenue from non-drug products through coconut water products branded Hydro Coco.

"Consumers can not go through hard selling sales," said Head of Marketing Kalbe Beverages Kalbe Farma Tbk, Arwin N. Hutasoit in Jakarta, Monday (2/10/2017).

Last year, the company claimed to sell 50 million packs of Hydro Coco. "Sales targets can grow double digits compared to last year," said Arwin.

For that, Arwin saw the export portion will be encouraged, from the beginning 5% is targeted to be proportion of 10%.

"The main objective of his country is in the United Arab Emirates, Hong Kong, China, South Korea and Japan." We enter through Kalbe representation offices and also trade to local companies, "he said.

Currently Hydro Coco plant is located in Riau with factory capacity of 70,000 tons per year. The finished production process in Riau is then sent to Jakarta, then distributed nationally and exported.

For information, raw materials are taken from Sambu Group's plantation located in Riau. Estimated coconut production from Riau reaches 423,000 tons per year.

Indonesia can produce 2.5 million tons of coconut per year. Such resources can excel in the global and only compete with Brazil, Mexico, India and the Philippines.
