INDUSTRY.co.id - Jakarta - The government believes that the provision of Bonded Logistics Center (PLB) facility to boost the acceleration of logistics flow will encourage the availability and speed of goods delivery in the current era of electronic commerce ("e-commerce").
Deputy for Commerce and Industry, Coordinating Ministry for Economic Affairs, Edy Putra Irawady, said that PLB can be empowered to support "e-commerce" in Indonesia.
"It is expected that the utilization of PLB is not only limited to production goods but also consumption, I think if it is well managed, PLB can be the spearhead of the improvement of national logistics system," said Edy through a press release received in Jakarta on Thursday (12/10/2017)
After more than one year running, PLB is considered to have created a lot of efficiency. However, it is still necessary for PLB to expand its role in the world of digital commerce.
Meanwhile, Chairman of Indonesian PLB Association, Etty Puspitasari, revealed that the efficiency and acceleration of business process has been felt by many industries with the presence of PLB, but still deemed necessary for uniform licensing permeability between ministries and institutions.
In response to the expansion efforts of PLB in anticipating the growth of "e-commerce", the Directorate General of Customs (DJBC) is working to enable PLB to continue to provide benefits for the progress of the domestic industry.
DJBC Organizational Capacity and Development Performance Assessment Unit, Threshold Priyonggo, stated that at this moment it is seeking PLB to be utilized to accommodate the growth of "e-commerce".
"We will review the utilization of this facility and hopefully with the provision of PLB facilities, it can increase trust and cooperation between government and industry," said Ambang.
