INDUSTRY.co.id - Medan - North Sumatra Governor HT Erry Nuradi believes the addition of toll roads in the province will spur regional economic growth could be above 6 percent.
"If in the last 3 years, the economy of North Sumatra grew 5 to 6 percent per year, then with an additional length of toll, the economy could be above 6an percent," he said in Deliserdang Friday (13/10/2017)
He said that at the inauguration of Medan - TebingTinggi Highway by President Joko Widodo.
The governor said, with the operation of two toll roads in North Sumatra namely Medan-Tebingtinggi and Medan -Binjai, the length of toll roads in North Sumatra has reached 113 km. Previously for the last 30 years, North Sumatra only has Belawan -Medan- Tanjung Morawa (Belmera) Toll Road along 33 km.
"There is an addition of Medan - Binjai Toll Road and Medan - Tebingtinggi for 80 km," he said.
The North Sumatera Provincial Government hopes the Central Government will keep in mind the development of North Sumatra's infrastructure.
"If the Tebingtinggi toll road can be forwarded to Lake Toba, then the tourism of North Sumatra will be more advanced. Moreover, Lake Toba has become one of the main tourist destinations of Indonesia," said the Governor of North Sumatra.
