Government Prepares 200 Ha Land for China Industry

INDUSTRY.co.id - Jakarta- The Indonesian government has set up a special industrial zone to accommodate industry from China. The area is located in Karawang with a land area of about 200 hectre.
"The area will support several industrial sectors such as automotive, electronics, shoes, textiles, clothing and petrochemicals," said Menperin Airlanga Hartarto, Monday (16/10/2017)
Airlangga added, China's investment, especially in the automotive sector is growing rapidly.
There are two Chinese vehicle factories that have been operating with an investment of Rp16 trillion and have been able to show good sales results.
"Indonesia can be a potential production and export base, in addition to having a very large domestic market, in fact, the industry value chain already exists," he said.
Based on the record of the Investment Coordinating Board (BKPM), China's total investment to Indonesia last year ranked second largest with a value of 1.07 billion US dollars. The money flows into the country through 520 projects.
Airlangga has also offered other industrial areas, such as in Tanah Kuning, North Kalimantan. The area with an area of 10 thousand hectares will be used as an aluminum-based industry center.
This internationally-equipped area will also be built of Hydroelectric Power Plant (PLTA) and New Renewable Energy (EBT) source as the main capital for investor withdrawal
