Veteran Allowance Increases 25 Percent From January 2018

INDUSTRY.co.id - Jakarta - President Joko Widodo said the government will raise allowances for veterans by 25 percent from January 2018.
"The government is raising benefits for the last veteran of 2014, the benefits will be raised again starting January 2018 by 25 percent," said President Jokowi when closing Congress XI Legion Veteran at Hotel Borobudur Jakarta, Thursday (19/10/2017)
The President said he had discussed the plan to increase the benefits with Finance Minister Sri Mulyani Indrawati.
Jokowi said the government's award form to veterans is very small and not comparable to what they have given to the nation and state.
In addition to the increase in allowances, according to Jokowi, the government is also continuing the home renovation program for veterans.
"Home renovation program by the Ministry of SOEs, we ordered to continue for 765 houses, in addition we asked the Ministry of PUPR also implement the program of providing homes for veterans," said Jokowi.
