INDUSTRY.co.id - Jakarta- Bank Indonesia (BI) declared the effective implementation of non-cash payment using electronic money (EU) in all Indonesian toll roads on October 31, 2017.

"Bank Indonesia (BI) and the Ministry of Public Works and Public Housing (PUPR) continue to strengthen coordination to ensure massive technical, business and campaign readiness and education," said Bank Indonesia Governor Agus Martowardojo in Jakarta on Monday (23/10/2017).

According to him, the preparation of non-cash transaction implementation on toll roads since May 2017 has shown more results, reflected in the increase in non-tobacco penetration in toll road segments.

He said the implementation of non-cash transactions on toll roads with the support of integration of various EU applications in 1 reader (SAM Multiapplet), the inclusion of more EU publishers serving the toll road (Multy issuer), and massive campaigns on 35 toll roads were able to drive the average penetration national electronic money reached 88% per 20 October 2017 and 4 (four) segments have reached 100% non-toll electronication namely BogorRingroad toll road, JORR W1, Surabaya-Gresik and Bali Mandara.

Achievement of this penetration, he added, is done in line with the implementation of substations not receive cash that has reached 70% and will continue to grow gradually, and implementation of the installation of SAM Multiapplet that has been done 93% in all existing segments.

According to him, towards the implementation of the 100% implementation of toll road electronics, coordination continues to be done to ensure the readiness of technical aspects. The steps taken include the acceleration of the installation of SAM Multiapplet, maintaining the fairness of electronic money integration cooperation price, the implementation of transaction processing SOP between the Toll Road Enterprises (BUJT) and banking, and the implementation of monitoring tools.

"In line with that, in order to make it easier for people to earn electronic money, the EU prime cards will be fulfilled, including through the prime card program with special pricing, as well as the addition of top-service locations around the gates and rest areas of toll roads and retail store networks. Education and campaigns are continuously enhanced by BI, Toll Road Regulatory Agency (BPJT), BUJT and banking, "he said.
