INDUSTRY.co.id - Jakarta - Toll Road Regulatory Agency (BPJT) said the use of electronic money to pay for toll services has reached 88 percent of total transactions per data of 20 October 2017.
"We will optimize within the rest of this week until 31 October 2017 to reach 100 percent," said Head BPJT Herry Tz. in a press conference at Bank Indonesia Building, Jakarta, Monday.
As is known, the government, BPJT and Bank Indonesia will apply 100 percent electronification of toll road payments (e-toll) on October 31, 2017 across the Indonesian toll roads.
All the stages for the full implementation of the end of October 2017, Herry said, has been done since May 2017.
These stages include, among other things, the implementation of non-cash transactions on toll roads, with the support of the integration of multiple electronic money (EU) applications in one reader machine (SAM multiapplet), the inclusion of more multi-billionaires publishing publishers (multyissuer), and massive campaigns on 35 toll roads.
Some toll roads have even applied 100 percent of payments electronically, such as Bogor Ringroad toll roads, Jakarta Outer RingRoad W1, Surabaya-Gresik, and Bali Mandara.
Nationally, currently 70 percent of total toll booths have not received cash payments, while 30 percent of substations implement hybrid engines, which are multifunctional for cash and non-cash payments.
Currently, there are five banks issuing electronic money that can be used on toll roads, namely PT Bank Negara Indonesia Persero Tbk, PT Bank Tabungan Negara Persero Tbk, PT Bank Mandiri Persero Tbk, PT Bank Rakyat Indonesia Persero Tbk, and one bank private sector PT Bank Central Asia Tbk.
"In December 2017, three other banks will participate in toll payment electronication, namely PT Bank Mega Tbk, PT Bank Nobu, and PT Bank DKI," said Director of Payment and Policy Department of Bank Indonesia (BI) Pungky Purnomo Wibowo on the same occasion.
Pungky also said that there will be ease to get electronic money, both in modern retail outlets and traditional.
To avoid congestion at toll booths, Pungky said, the top up of electronic money should be in a resort, mini-supermarket, and ATM or using e-Banking.
No Dismissal On the other hand, BPJT ensures this program will not affect the termination of employment (PHK).
"In the substation is still there part of the task is not to pay and refund money, but serve and also improve the service. Chinese on this program there should be no layoffs," said Herry.
Director of Jasa Marga Desi Arryani explained that currently the number of employees in Jasa Marga Group reaches 9,900 people.
"Actually, with this Noncash, it is much more humane that fellow collectors of tolls in small cribs have been inhaled exhaust, emissions, dust, and the money is chemical element so every day we keep milk constantly," she said.
