INDUSTRY.co.id - Jakarta - Chief Executive of the Indonesian Consumers Foundation (YLKI) Tulus Abadi said toll road automation using non-cash transaction using electronic money is not without problems.
"Often the electronic cash card reader machine is slow in responding, in the end it is faster the man who serves the payment in cash," said Tulus Abadi contacted media crew in Jakarta, Tuesday (24/10/2017)
In addition to the slow engine response, not infrequently there is a machine that is damaged at all so that toll road users are forced to retreat and move to another toll booth.
In addition to problems in the electronic currency card reader machine, problems also occur on the side of toll road users. For example, there are still tough toll road users putting cards on the reader machine, even dropping cards.
"It is not uncommon for consumers to recharge in modern retailers such as 'minimarket' for various reasons, for example, the balance to refill in minimarket is being exhausted," he said.
Therefore, Tulus believes that toll road managers still have to give option for toll road users to make payment in cash. The choice of cash transactions also occurs in countries that implement automation on toll roads, for example, the United States, Singapore and China.
According to Tulus, Law No. 8 of 1999 on Consumer Protection regulates the rights of consumers, including the right to vote.
"One of them is the choice to conduct transactions in cash or non-cash," he said.
