INDUSTRY.co.id - Jakarta - The construction of a second hot mill (HSM) of PT Krakatau Steel (Persero) Tbk (KRAS) commenced in August last year with an investment of US $ 460 million.
"In addition to building HSM II factory, the company is also completing the construction of a blast furnace complex," said General Manager of Research and Technology of Krakatau Steel, Yusuf Marhaban in Jakarta, Thursday (26/10/2017).
Currently in the cluster Cilegon has operated 1 blast furnace owned by PT Krakatau Posco.
"Krakatau Steel's second blast furnace is scheduled for completion in 2018, between March and April. Blast furnace will produce 1.2 million tons of melamine to 1.5 million tons," said Yusuf.
At the end of August 2017, the company has conducted first pushing coke oven plant which is an important part of the operation of iron ore processing facility.
The first process of pushing coke oven plant is the production process of coking coal as a steel fuser. With the operation of the coke oven plant, stage I blast furnace of Krakatau Steel has been completed.
