Japanese Loans for Port of Patimban Signed This November

INDUSTRY.co.id - Jakarta- A loan from the Japanese Government for the Patimban Port project of 1.7 billion US dollars will be signed in November.
"In mid-November 2017, it is expected to be signed 'loan agreement' between Indonesia and Japan," said the Port Director of the Ministry of Transportation Chandra Irawan in a written statement in Jakarta on Thursday (2/11/2017)
Chandra said the signing could be completed by internal coordination with the Ministry of Finance processing loan agreement, Ministry of Foreign Affairs processing "Exchange of Note" and Bappenas processing its foreign cooperation planning and PUPR Ministry becoming "Implementing Agency" for the construction of access road to Patimban harbor.
The statement was based on a discussion conducted by the Government of Indonesia and Japans in the meeting of The 8th Vice-Ministerial Meeting in the Transport Sector between Indonesia and Japan on Thursday (1/11) in Tokyo Japan.
The discussion on Port of Patimban is done in the Plenary Meeting and Working Group Meeting sessions on Port and Maritime Affairs.
While the discussion in the Plenary Meeting of Indonesian delegation led by Secretary General of Ministry of Transportation, Sugihardjo and delegation of Ministry of Land Infrastructure and Tourism (MLIT) Japan led by Vice-Minister for International Affairs Hiroshi Narahira.
The meeting has authorized the technical document "Detail Engineering Design" and related administrative processes for the Phase III Patimban Project.
"Exactly on 31 October 2017, the tender process for Package 1 in Phase 1-1 has begun, including the construction of 'car terminals' and 'container terminals', while for Package 2 and Package 3 stages 1-1 are expected to be processed within one to two weeks to the front, "Chandra said.
Related to the land acquisition for the Port of Patimban, Chandra said that planned in December 2017 until February 2018 can be settled payment of compensation.
He conveyed also related to the supply of electricity and water at the port, State Electricity Company (PLN) and Regional Water Company (PDAM) Subang Regency ready to support in Patimban Port project.
"This PLN support will be set forth in the cooperation agreement between the Ministry of Transportation and PLN with the planned content, among others, will provide assurance on the availability of electricity supply at the time specified at the time of operation of each terminal and its reliability The said memorandum will also provide guarantee return on investment to PLN in order to supply electricity in such large capacity for the Port of Patimban project, "Chandra said as quoted by Antara.
As for clean water supply, PDAM Subang undertakes to provide clean water with a capacity of 43 liters / sec.
