INDUSTRY.co.id - Jakarta- Sogo CEO Handaka Santosa unveiled the cover of a number of retail homeland that closed the outlets the impact of rampant online shopping. According to him, what should be done by the government is to maintain the stability of goods prices.

Because the habit of Indonesian people who are more fond of shopping abroad can be a threat to domestic retail stores in the future ahead of the online store or e-commerce.

"We are asking the government to keep the prices of goods in the country so they do not want to go abroad," Handaka said.

He revealed, currently the price of airfare to go abroad if booked in advance is very cheap. Even the selling price can be the same as the train ticket price. Another phenomenon, the people of Indonesia now often go abroad with the entourage.

"Foreigners are now not only upper class but lower middle class because the ticket price is the same as the train ride, which should be anticipated by the government and entrepreneurs," he explained.

Handaka further said the government and employers must work together to control the prices of goods so as not more expensive than neighboring countries, Singapore and Malaysia.

"Do not let the price of goods is higher than Singapore and Malaysia because there is a price of some goods that are cheaper there than here. Retail retail is not only domestically, it's a matter of compatibility because people are suitable to wear cosmetics A, will not want to change to the brand B, "he said.

"If our people prefer to go abroad, we will lose a lot of potential," Handaka added.

Handaka claimed more worried about the phenomenon than online business that has mushroomed. The reason is because the portion of e-commerce contribution to Gross Domestic Product (GDP) is only 1-2 percent.

"Our contribution is still very small compared to offline business We also have MAP EMALL.com with online business model to offline, can order online, but can take goods at our booth at the nearest mall So we change business," he explained.
