President of Korea Visit to Increase Manufacturing Industry Cooperation

INDUSTRY.co.id - Jakarta - The Ambassador of the Republic of Indonesia to South Korea Umar Hadi expects the visit of South Korean President Moon Jae-in on 8-10 November 2017 to Indonesia will increase cooperation between the two countries.
"Hopefully success for the good of both countries," Umar told media crew in Jakarta, Monday (6/11/2017).
He said there was much to be discussed during President Moon Jae-in's visit and hoped for bilateral cooperation between the two countries.
However, he is reluctant to comment on whether there is a joint statement and South Korea's hopes for Indonesia over the Korean Peninsula issue.
"The period of something so important is not discussed," he said.
Earlier, Foreign Ministry Spokesman Arrmanatha Nasir said here on Thursday that the state visit of the President of South Korea would be accepted by President Joko Widodo at the Bogor Palace on November 9, 2017.
"This is the first visit of President Moon Jae-in to ASEAN, demonstrating South Korea's high commitment to cooperation in Indonesia and ASEAN," he said.
Director of East Asia and Pacific Region of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Edi Yusup said the President of the two countries discussed issues of trade, protection of Indonesian citizens, and regional issues of concern to Indonesia and South Korea.
"Indonesia is a strategic partner of the Republic of Korea and rises to a 'special strategic partnership' level, and the two presidents will also discuss the expansion of Korean bilateral cooperation with countries in the Pacific region," he said.
During the visit of the South Korean President, the governments of both countries will sign a memorandum of understanding on industrial, communications and health cooperation.
In addition, according to Edi, the RI-Korea Business Forum will be held which will be attended by representatives from about 300 companies from Indonesia and South Korea.
