Astra Infra will Participate in Auction of Port Manager of Patimban Subang

INDUSTRY.co.id - Jakarta - PT Astratel Nusantara (Astra Infra), infrastructure business line of PT Astra International Tbk said it will join the tender process of Port Patimban management in Subang, West Java.
Director of Astra Infra Rahmat Samulo in Jakarta, Wednesday (8/11/2017) said the new company to manage one port in East Kalimantan wants to be part of the port operator which will be used to reduce the traffic load of Tanjung Priok Port in North Jakarta.
"The Astra wants to enter it is part of the operator," he said.
Rahmat explained that the development of Patimban Port is divided into two schemes, namely physical development and operator selection or port management.
"If the port's physical establishment is partly borrowed from Japan and partly from the State Budget (APBN), the choice of operators is where we will be involved," he said.
Grace believes in the selection of port operators, the government will hold an auction so that the company can participate and hope to be elected.
"Hopefully we can be selected so one of the operators," he said.
Astra Infra Irawan Santoso, President Director of Astra Infra Irawan Santoso, said that after acquiring an effective share ownership in Cikopo-Palimanan toll road by 45 percent, it sees the potential of Patimban Port as a supporter of the supply chain of many holding companies in the automotive sector.
Moreover, he continued, many partner companies from Japan who built the industry around the port substitute Cilamaya.
Not to mention the fact that in the first phase of the operation of the port will be widely used to export automotive products with a capacity of 218,000 units of Completely Build Up (CBU) cars of a total of 600,000 CBUs.
"It feels really suitable especially since we have a toll road under it. That's why we are so interested in Patimban," he said.
The construction of Port Patimban in Subang, West Java, will commence in early 2018. The development of Port Patimban will be divided into 3 stages, especially for the first phase is divided into two phases where the first phase of the first phase is targeted to be completed in 2019.
If it can enter Port Patimban, it will be the second port that will be managed by the company after acquiring PT Penajam Banua Taka Port (Astra Infra Port Eastkal) located in Buluminun industrial area, Penajam, East Kalimantan.
