"Today the flight back to normal and smooth," he said in Pontianak, Monday (13/11/2017)
He said the previous day or Sunday (12/11/2017) most airport runways are inundated, resulting in flight cancellation from all airlines.
"Due to heavy rains, yesterday the runway was submerged in water so it could not pass the plane either from and to West Kalimantan," he said.
He said that until now there are still water in the runway. But the position of stagnant water is on the edge so as not to disturb flight activity.
"Our side will keep trying to overcome the puddles to be drained immediately, we are in the middle and keep pumping the water," he said.
He believes that if there is no more rain pouring down in the future the conditions will smoothly.
"We keep trying and hope this will continue smoothly, we will maximize the service," he said.
Meanwhile, the Association of Travel Bureau (Asita) of West Kalimantan, Nugroho Henray Ekasaputra rate with the occurrence of flooding in vital facilities such as Supadio Airport certainly have a wide impact on various things.
"The incident that occurred yesterday would cause disruption of transportation to and from Kalbar through the air either passengers or cargo," he said.
It hopes this event becomes a lesson for airport managers in development planning. Because the construction of such vital facilities should include elements of natural and social disaster risk prevention, including the potential for flooding.
"We hope this can be resolved soon and in the future the Supadio Airport drainage system must be repaired soon to be able to anticipate high rainfall," he said.
