Kominfo: Only 4.6 Million SMEs Enter Online Access

INDUSTRY.co.id - Jakarta - The Ministry of Communication and Informatics (Kominfo) together with the Ministry of Cooperatives and SMEs committed to makes online 8 million SMEs until 2019. Nevertheless, until now based on new data of Kominfo 4.6 million SMEs access online.

"We have a target of 8 million SMEs targeting it until 2019, but now it is only 4.6 million," said Rudiantara Minister of Communications and Informatics at a press conference in Jakarta on Wednesday (15/11/2017).

He argues, with the digital technology that continues to grow and flare, also provides space for SMEs to grow.

SMEs, according to the Minister in the end can market their products more widely through online, as well as providing space for the emergence of new entrepreneurs.

"For example now, with go jek, can be through the kitchen directly sent to the buyer, as long as have a brand, no longer need to have a restaurant, as long as can be good at cooking," he said.

Meanwhile, Deputy Production and Marketing Ministry of Cooperatives and SMEs I Wayan Dipta said it has long been pushing SMEs to get involved in the digital economy.

Ministry of Cooperatives and SMEs continue to provide assistance to the SMEs to be able to go online.

He said that currently, SMEs that have sufficient capacity continue to be pushed the Ministry to online. Among them by increasing the ability and capacity so that the products have quality standards.

"Like for example about copyright, lest we have promoted it was owned by others," he said.
