Lenovo, Fujitsu and DBJ Forms Joint Venture in PC Market

INDUSTRY.co.id - Jakarta - Fujitsu Limited (Fujitsu) in cooperation with Lenovo Group Limited (Lenovo) and Development Bank of Japan (DBJ) to form Joint Venture will focus on research, development, design, manufacturing and sales of Client Computing Device (CCS) PC Global market.
Fujitsu will begin selling 51% of its wholly owned subsidiary Fujitsu Client Computing Limited (FCCL) to Lenovo and 5% of its shares to DBJ. After this transaction, FCCL will be a joint venture company owned by Fujitsu, Lenovo and DBJ and will still use the name Fujitsu Client Computing Limited.
The transaction is expected to be completed in the first quarter of FY2018. The aggregate deal reached Fujitsu is JPY 28.0 billion which includes JPY 25.5 billion from Lenovo and JPY 2.5 billion from DBJ.
After the joint venture is established, FCCL products will continue to be distributed and sold under the Fujitsu brand. Fujitsu will continue to serve corporate customers worldwide, either directly or through its distribution partner network, and provide support and after-sales service.
FCCL will serve the consumer market in Japan, either directly or retail, and provide product support and services. Through this strategic collaboration, Fujitsu and Lenovo want to foster greater scale growth and competitiveness in the PC business.
This joint venture will leverage Fujitsu's capabilities in global sales, customer support, R & D, manufacturing and system integration that is highly automated and efficient in order to meet customer demand.
