INDUSTRY.co.id - Jakarta - Business players of toy products in the country are requested to immediately register their products to get the Indonesian National Standard or SNI, in order to compensate for the flood of similar products from abroad.
Vice Chairman of the Association of Importers and Distributor of Indonesian Toys (AIMI) Bart Nureka said, there are many advantages obtained if a product has been certified SNI. One of them will get the same market with products from outside.
"For local producers with this there (SNI) can definitely market, they can reap the same market with other distributors," he said in D-Lab, Menteng, Central Jakarta.
In addition, by bagging SNI, business actors will be able to enter larger markets, such as retail. Because, according to him, domestic retail industries only accept SNI products.
"When there is a local businessman who has a product with a point (SNI), can enter with SNI competition become more healthy," he said.
SNI can also be a guarantor that the toys produced are really qualified. "This SNI will hamper toy makers who are not qualified or made carelessly, with SNI automatically selected," he said.
He also said SNI is not only required for domestic products, but also for products imported from abroad. "When the SNI is made by the government, we use the ISO 8124 standard. Every item wants to enter Indonesia is tested in the lab to be certified," he explained.
There are also imported products are required to pass through various test stages to be declared eligible to enter Indonesia.
"There will be a classification of the product. What age, brand is what category, electronic or not. These toys are in accordance with the age of the child or not. Have any potential dangers, what have chemical elements, if it breaks dangerous, what is easy burning, "he stressed.
"After passing a new test there is a certificate, if not pass one (criteria), will not be certified," he said.
