INDUSTRY.co.id - Jakarta - The government needs to encourage partnerships between large-scale enterprises and cooperatives and Micro Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) to accelerate the empowerment program. Because, until now UMKM still has a number of obstacles both in terms of financing and expand its business.
So far, many UMKM players have difficulties in obtaining access to bank credit due to technical and non technical constraints. For example, MSMEs do not have enough collateral to get funding from banks. In addition, access to banking information is limited.
While from the development side, UMKM actors still have limited information about the financing pattern for certain commodities. In addition, in terms of marketing, UMKM products often experience deadlock when dealing with large industries in the modern retail market. Therefore, large and small business partnerships become very strategic in the context of creating a just national economy.
Secretary General of the Ministry of Cooperatives and SMEs Agus Muharram said the business partnership should be sustainable built so that it can grow together. Creation of a just national economy will be accelerated through the realization of a sustainable business partnership.
"However, intensive monitoring is needed to make the partnership work as expected," Agus said in a discussion entitled "Encouraging Small Business Partnership" at IPMI International Business School Campus, Kalibata, South Jakarta, Tuesday (28/11).
For that, continued Agus, in December 2016 ago, the Ministry of Cooperatives and SMEs together with the Business Competition Supervisory Commission (KPPU) formed a Task Force (Satgas) Partnership of SMEs. KPPU is fully committed to give maximum contribution in supervising the partnership that is built. Through its role and function in supervision of partnership of cooperatives and UMKM with big business actors, KPPU is believed to be able to minimize national economic inequality.
Commissioner of the Business Competition Supervisory Commission (KPPU), Saidah Sakwan, revealed that his party keeps inventorying the number of industries that have made business partnerships. Because, up to now based on BPS data, small companies that have established partnerships are still about 20% of the total industry in the country.
"Therefore, the duties of KPPU and the Ministry of Cooperatives and SMEs are heavy because they are targeted to increase the number of large-scale business partnerships, in accordance with the mandate of Law no. 20 of 2008 and Government Regulation (PP) no. 17 of 2013, "said Saidah.
