Sabang Container Port Can Be Port of Transhipment

INDUSTRY.co.id - Sabang - Sabang Container Port or known as CT3 can be a transhipment port so that goods from Sumatra can be brought abroad through this port.

This was conveyed by Minister of Transportation Budi Karya Sumadi while reviewing CT3 terminal in preparation for the peak of Sail Sabang 2017, yesterday.

"If it could be a transshipment port will be attractive, technically good and strategic location, Port CT3 is a natural port with a depth of 20 meters so it does not require development and maintenance as other ports in Indonesia," said Minister of Transportation Budi Karya

"If it becomes a transhipment port, then one of the alternatives to the flow of goods from several regions in Sumatra can be through Sabang port CT3, then it will be brought abroad with larger vessels" explained Minister of Transportation to the media crew.

Furthermore, the Transportation Minister said that there are already ship operators who are interested in making the Port of CT3 as a transhipment.

"So I came here to see directly this port, there are already ship operators who are interested with this port of sabang," lid Menhub Budi Karya.

Minister of Transportation Budi Karya Sumadi is present at the Port of Container in order to check the readiness of organizing the peak of Sail Sabang 2017 which is planned to be held on Saturday, December 2, 2017.
