Wonderful Sabang Impacts Increase SME Sector

INDUSTRY.co.id - Sabang - Minister of Tourism (Menpar) Arief Yahya, Friday (1/12/2017) afternoon, opened the Wonderful Sabang & Marine Expo 2017 which took place at the Port of CT-3, Sabang, Aceh.

The event organized by the Ministry of Cooperatives and Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) is one of a series of activities Sail Sabang 2017 which aims to promote and publish the excellent products of SMEs as well as other exhibitors.

"Our SMEs are already 60 million less, meaning he is more than 99.9 percent of business actors in Indonesia," said Tourism Minister Arief Yahya when opening the exhibition which is a series of Sabang Sail activities 2017. The exhibition will take place on 1- December 5, 2017.

SMEs in Indonesia, continued Arief, contribute 60% of Gross Domestic Product (GDP) and absorb 97% of the workforce.

"The role of SMEs is very strategic for the nation of Indonesia. It can be said that almost all businesses in Indonesia are SMEs, "said Menpar appreciate the role of SMEs.

Ending his speech, Minister of Transport advised that SME players can make breakthroughs in his business.

"What can be done now is the management of digital," said Arief pointed out.

After the inauguration, Menpar accompanied by Deputy Governor of Aceh Nova Iriansyah and Deputy of Production and Marketing of the Ministry of Cooperatives and SMEs I Wayan Dipta review exhibition booth Wonderful Sabang & Marine Expo 2017 which was attended by about 166 participants consisting of SMEs from various provinces in Indonesia, banking, and ministries and institutions. The Cabinet Secretariat participates in this exhibition, in collaboration with the Ministry of Tourism.

The opening ceremony of Wonderful Sabang & Marine Expo was attended by the Vice Governor of Aceh Nova Iriansyah, the wife of Governor of Aceh Darwati A. Gani, and the Deputy of Production and Marketing of the Ministry of Cooperatives and SME I Wayan Dipta. Also present were Assistant Deputy for Tourism, Research and Technology of the Maritime Secretariat of the Cabinet (Setkab) Arief Khumaidi.
