INDUSTRY.co.id - Jakarta - PT Pos Indonesia is considered to be able to develop a strong innovation to be able to go towards the company "e-commerce" or a strong electronic transaction in line with the advent of the era of digitalization as it is today.

"PT Pos Indonesia should no longer only innovate postal issues, but transform itself as an e-commerce company," said House Commission I deputy chairman Hanafi Rais in a release yesterday.

According to the National Mandate Party (PAN) politician, the conversion into an "e-commerce" company is judged to be in line with the infrastructure, human resources, and extensive office capabilities of the archipelago.

Moreover, according to him, in the digital era like today all parties have the same opportunity so that those who provide the most rapid and easy to assess will be glorious.

For that, he wants PT Pos clean up to compete with other digital platform business.

Related to e-commerce business, the Government ensures the taxation of electronic transaction (e-commerce) will not harm the Taxpayer (WP) and fairer for both conventional and digital business actors.

Finance Minister Sri Mulyani said on Thursday (7/12) that the company is formulating taxes on electronic transactions to create a level of equality between conventional and digital.

Meanwhile, Head of Fiscal Policy Agency of the Ministry of Finance Suahasil Nazara confirmed that taxation on e-commerce would be related to the procedure, not to the imposition of a new type of tax.

"The point is to make the procedures that enable friends 'e-commerce' to meet the needs of better taxation There is no new tax," said Suahasil in Jakarta, Monday (13/11).

Suahasil said the method of taxation is in the process of review and preparation, because Taxpayers involved in electronic transactions have different characteristics.

Meanwhile, the Central Bureau of Statistics is reportedly conducting a study related to the share of the share of electronic commerce activities in the network (e-commerce) on the national economic growth.

"We have not been able to sort out how much 'share' from 'online' is, therefore BPS is now working with idEA (Association of E-Commerce Indonesia)," said BPS Head Suhariyanto met at BPS Building, Jakarta, Tuesday (14/11 ).

Suhariyanto revealed that the "e-commerce" sector is actually included in the data of economic growth from the production side. In theory, everything produced for later trading, either "offline" or "online", is already included there.
