INDUSTRY.co.id - Jakarta - Finance Minister (Finance Minister) Sri Mulyani will prepare the tax rules on the commercial sector of commerce or e-commerce friendly to Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs). He said that currently many merchants or merchants in e-commerce are SMEs.
"So how are they empowered to then get good tax treatment, the taxation regime that the President wants to encourage them to be less burdened," Sri Mulyani said.
Sri admitted, this will also be able to improve SME merchant compliance in the field of taxation. Therefore, he will build a transaction recording system to support the taxation side. "It can work with the perpetrators, its providers or from its platform developers," Sri said.
Sri also discussed with Bank Indonesia (BI) regarding the use of the National Payment Gateway (GPN) and the Financial Services Authority (OJK) regarding the recording mechanism and accounting system. That, Sri said, to prepare SMEs into the digital era.
In addition, Sri admitted the government will also regulate the mechanism of taxation and customs in digital economic transactions, especially those that are cross border or cross border.
"Even on various platforms, purchases of goods originating from abroad have not been affected by treatment, the same if we buy through official imports," said Sri.
Sri admitted, this resulted in unequal treatment between importers and business actors in Indonesia with transactions conducted online. "So, we also have to think about how to protect domestic industry players," Sri said.
