Face Industry 4.0, Kemenperin Embrace Marketplace Pace the Development of SMEs

INDUSTRY.co.id - Jakarta - the Ministry of Industry (Kemenperin) increasingly aggressively spur the development of e-Smart IKM by establishing cooperation agreements with marketplace.
The cooperation agreement is conducted between the Directorate General of IKM Ministry of Industry together with the domestic marketplace, namely Tokopedia, Blibli, and Shopee. These three marketplaces followed Bukalapak and Blanja who had cooperated previously.
"This program is a step Kemenperin in the era of Industry4.0, as well as follow-up of the implementation of e-Smart IKM," said Minister of Industry, Airlangga Hartarto in Jakarta, Tuesday (12/12/2017).
He added that to date, more than 1,700 domestic SME actors have participated in IKM e-Smart workshops.
According to him, by entering this online market, marketing problems that are often faced by IKM actors can be significantly reduced. "Moreover, Indonesia is a very potential country for the growth and development of e-commerce," said Airlangga.
Based on data from the e-commerce associationIndonesia (IdeA), with a population of more than 250 million people, internet penetration in Indonesia reaches as many as 90.5 million people, and about 26.3 million people have been shopping online.
"Indonesia as the 9th country with the largest manufacturing contribution in the world, it is time for the e-marketplace to be filled by the domestic products," said Minister of Industry.
Furthermore, Airlangga reveals, next year is the economic year in Asean, with the push of digital connection and Indonesia as a hub or a digital core that spur products IKM can enliven the Asean market with the potential of reaching 500 million people.
Meanwhile, Director General of IKM Kemenperin, Gati Wibawaningsih said it will target as many as 10 thousand IKM that follow IKM e-Smart workshop throughout Indonesia until 2019.
"IKM's e-Smart program assures that SMEs joining will be given priority to follow the guidance and training of Ministry of Industry," she said.
On the same occasion, the Directorate General of IKM launched its hotline or call center on 1500775 phone number. SME players can use this facility to obtain all information about IKM.
"Business actors can get the widest information on the program, policy, facilitation and service as one solution to solve the problem of IKM," lid Gati.
