INDUSTRY.co.id - Surabaya - Indonesia Port Limited Company (Pelindo) III officially manages Terminal Manyar Port of Gresik in Java Integrated Industrial and Port Estate (JIIPE) Industrial Estate, Gresik Regency, East Java.
Berlian Manyar Sejahtera (BMS) President Director Hendiek Eko Herdiantoro said in Surabaya yesterday that Pelindo III officially manages JIIPE after signing a concession agreement.
The agreement was made between the Office of Manpower and the Port Authority of Gresik Class II, represented by the Head of KSOP Agustinus Maun, with the Port Enterprise of PT BMS, the affiliate of BUMN Port business, Pelindo III.
"We express our appreciation to the Ministry of Transportation and its staff for their support in accelerating the completion of this concession agreement," he said.
Hendiek said the concession agreement is implemented according to the law. No. 17 of 2008 concerning voyages governing port operations.
"BMS as an affiliate of Pelindo III and as a Port Business Entity (BUP) get concessions in Gresik Port for 76 years," he said.
Previously, Manyar Terminal of Gresik Port is a 350 hectares harbor area connected directly with industrial areas with deep sea ports that have access to domestic and international markets.
The JIIPE area can minimize the logistics costs that usually occur when the harbor location is far from the factory.
Previously, Manyar Terminal in JIIPE area was also designed to be a multipurpose port that was able to facilitate the loading and unloading of dry bulk, bulk liquid, general cargo, and container.
The terminal, which has a depth of up to -16 meters of Low Water Spring (LWS), is able to realize large ships up to 150,000 dead weight tonnages (DWT).
In addition, since it opened in February 2016 has gained good market share from industry players, and cargo volume in 2017 has reached 1.3 million tons.
