INDUSTRY.co.id - Surabaya - Limited company Pelindo III (Persero) plans to develop Kendal Port, Central Java to support the logistics flow of goods in the local area.
CEO of Pelindo III Ari Askhara after signing a cooperation with the Regent of Kendal, Mirna Annisa, Thursday (28/12/20170 admitted deeply appreciate the breakthrough District Government Kendal to develop assets owned district with cooperation Pelindo III.
"With the synergy with SOE Pelindo III, District Government Kendal is expected to develop the district assets more efficiently," said Ari in his press statement received in Jakarta.
Ari admitted that Pelindo III, which has business, technical and capital capability, is optimistic that it can improve economic benefits not only for Kendal residents, but also for logistic and industry stakeholders in Central Java and beyond.
He explained the scope of cooperation of both parties covering development, operation, investment, funding, and equity participation for Kendal Port.
"Implementation of the initial process of cooperative work begins with the feasibility study, processing and licensing process, and will be done with Pelindo III and Kendal regency," he said.
The collective agreement, he said, is not limited to physical projects, but also human resources, such as personnel capacity building programs in the form of training, staff exchanges and technical assistance, as well as the possibilities of other cooperation required.
"Kendal Port will be an attractive feature for investors to invest in Kendal Industrial Estate (KIK) which is being built by the government because the integrated port facility in an industrial area can increase the effectiveness and efficiency of the distribution of production goods," he explained.
Meanwhile, Pelindo III currently also manages a number of ports in Central Java such as Tanjung Emas Port Semarang, Semarang Container Terminal, and Tanjung Intan Port in Cilacap.
