Sarinah Expansion in Saudi Arabia and Japan amid the Slugish of Retail Business

INDUSTRY.co.id - Jakarta - PT Sarinah (Persero) is trying to penetrate overseas market, one of them by opening branches in Mecca of Saudi Arabia and Tokyo Japan. Local entrepreneurs who work as partners provide infrastructure and human resources, while Sarinah is a supplier of goods. The target of Sarinah abroad is not only Indonesian citizens but local people.

In February 2018, Sarinah will inaugurate a booth in Mecca, Saudi Arabia. Preparation for the opening of this outlet has been prepared since long ago, said President Director of PT Sarinah GNP Sugiarta Yasa, Friday (29/12).

The hope with the Sarinah outlet in Mecca will help the pilgrims from Indonesia to meet their daily needs. Later also the outlet can make the number of luggage pilgrims more concise.

In addition to Mecca, the company is also preparing plans to build outlets in Tokyo, Japan. But the realization for outlets in Tokyo will be implemented in the second half of next year.

Actually there is one more country that became the company's expansion destination that is Hong Kong. But he could not confirm when the realization.

"The one in Hong Kong is the synergy between SOEs in cooperation with BNI, but not yet know when it will be realized," he said.
