INDUSTRY.co.id - Jakarta - The high demand and demand for bottled drinking water (AMDK), especially in Jakarta, makes the business competition increasingly fierce.
Recently, the Business Competition Supervisory Commission (KPPU) has imposed fines on Aqua's producers and distributors for deeming unfair competition by blocking Le Minerale's sales.
Chairman of the Association of Bottled Water Entrepreneurs (Aspadin), Rachmat Hidayat said, the heat of competition can not be separated from the prospect of AMDK seductive.
"Based on data from the Association of Indonesian Bottled Water Companies (Aspadin), for the last five years the average bottled water sales volume grew 8 percent per year, reaching 26.8 billion liters in 2016," he said in Jakarta some time ago.
He added that the area of Jakarta, Bogor, Depok, Tangerang, Bekasi (Jabodetabek) is the largest national market of AMDK, reaching 39 percent.
Based on Central Bureau of Statistics (BPS) data, the percentage of Jakarta population consuming bottled water in 2015 is 70.6 percent. This can not be separated from people's doubt about the quality of water they consume.
