Begin in 2018, Garuda Indonesia Open Flight Route to China

INDUSTRY.co.id - Jakarta - In order to expand its aviation network and increase its market share in line with the increasing traffic of Chinese tourists visiting Indonesia, PT Garuda Indonesia Tbk (GIAA) opened the Denpasar-Zhengzhou PP and Denpasar-Xi'an PP flight routes which will officially operate by the end of January 2018 .
"Opening 2018 we will operate two international routes to China destinations Xi'an and Zhengzhou from Denpasar," said GIAA Cargo Director Sigit Muhartono this weekend.
According to Sigit, the Chinese market is increasingly playing an important role in the international market of Garuda, with international tourist arrivals from China reaching 120 million per year worldwide. "We are very optimistic to maximize the market potential, especially through the opening of this route," he said.
He added that the opening of two international routes earlier this year at the same time illustrates the company's optimism in increasing its market share. "Currently Garuda's market share in Indonesia-China route is in the range of 35 percent," said Sigit
The Denpasar-Xi'an flight service is scheduled to start operating on January 29, 2018 twice a week served by an Airbus A330 fleet with a capacity of 360 passengers.
The flight service departs every Monday and Friday from Denpasar at 16.55 WITA and arrives in Xian at 00:25 local time.
While the Denpasar-Zhengzhou flight will start operating on January 30, 2018 as much as three times a week which is also served with a fleet of Airbus A330-300.
The flight service departs every Tuesday, Thursday and Sunday from Denpasar at 11.35 WITA and arrives in Zengzhou at 18:25 local time.
Currently Garuda has served at least 63 flights each week consisting of direct flights to cities in China such as Denpasar-Chengdu PP, Denpasar-Beijing PP, Denpasar-Guangzhou PP, Denpasar-Shanghai PP, Jakarta-Guangzhou PP, Jakarta-Beijing PP and Jakarta-Shanghai PP.
