INDUSTRY.co.id - Jakarta - PT Pos Indonesia (Persero) targets revenues from its courier service in 2018 of Rp3.3 trillion or 60 percent of its total revenue of Rp5.5 trillion.

"The courier service will remain the dominant portfolio of Pos Indonesia, from the actual courier, money courier, courier and document messenger, so we want to restore the glory," said Pos Indonesia President Director Gilarsi Wahju Setiono in Jakarta recently.

According to Gilarsi, various business strategies and programs have been prepared to maintain the high business courier forward.

He explained that the increase in courier service business is in line with the decline in mail delivery service business.

"The mail delivery is eroded, but on the other hand the demand for document and goods delivery continues to increase in line with the rampant e-commerce business that needs delivery services," he said.

Even so Gilarsi added, the courier business should be developed in conjunction with the financial services.

"We also provide payment system (payment gateway) e-commerce to accommodate buyers in transactions through credit cards, business-to customer, business-to-business," he said.

Meanwhile, Director of Courier Services Pos Indonesia, Agus F Handoyo as reported by Antara said the courier service Pos Indonesia will continue to grow in significant numbers.

Agus said, four segments of courier business targeted by Pos Indonesia are corporate, government, retail and e-commerce services company.

"The growth of courier service from time to time has increased, along with the rise of online transactions," he said.

To capture the magnitude of courier service opportunities, Pos Indonesia relies on its owned networks such as postal outlets, postal agencies, including deploying postal officers who are directly targeted to the people who will deliver the goods.

"To increase the quality of courier service, we allocate investment to build the Internet network infrastructure and solutions or service applications that can provide comfort to the community," he said.

He added that the contribution of the courier service to the company's revenue reached 60 percent, followed by financial services 30 percent, the rest of logistics services, property and stamp sales.
