INDUSTRY.co.id - Jakarta - The construction sector is an indicator of Indonesia's economic growth. Therefore, the development of infrastructure and construction must be a continuous path for the Indonesian economy to continue to grow.

"Infrastructure and construction must continue on a sustainable road to keep the Indonesian economy growing," said Chairman of the Advisory Board of the Indonesian Center for Construction Cooperation (Gapensi), Erwin Aksa in Jakarta, Monday (15/1/2018).

According to him, the national construction sector is currently in a uniform competition. It is expected that infrastructure development will be greater. "That way the workforce will be more needed," he explained.

Therefore, continued Erwin, it required human resources (HR) who are competent and reliable for infrastructure development.

"It is important to acknowledge that we are still lacking competent human resources in the construction sector and it is expected that the government can solve the problems related to human resources in the construction sector," Erwin said.

Keep in mind, Indonesia's construction market is the largest construction market in Southeast Asia reached US $ 267 billion. The market figures are still above other Southeast Asian countries such as Malaysia for US $ 32 billion and Singapore with US $ 24 billion.

Even in Asia, Indonesia ranks 4th for the construction market after China reached US $ 1.78 trillion, followed by Japan of US $ 742 billion, and India which reached US $ 427 billion.
