South Korean Mining Company Builds Nickel Smelter in North Konawe

INDUSTRY.co.id - Jakarta - South Korean mining company, Made By Good (MBG) Group, through its subsidiary PT MBG Nikel Indonesia, is constructing a nickel smelter in North Konawe (Konut), Southeast Sulawesi with an investment value of Rp76 trillion.
"We appreciate the government of North Konawe District which participate in attracting investors from the industrial sector," said Director of Industrial Area Development I of the Ministry of Industry, Arus Gunawan to the press in Jakarta, Wednesday (17/1/2018).
Arus said the construction of the nickel smelter plant will be completed over the next two years gradually and targeted to absorb thousands of workers. In addition, the area of land used is about 311 hectares.
"The smelter plant activity is one of the implementation efforts of industrial downstream policies that bring a chain effect to the regional and national economy and can strengthen the national industrial structure so that it will be more competitive in the global arena," he said.
Since MBG stands for nine years in South Korea, Indonesia is listed as the third country of smelter investment location after America and Russia. For this smelter investment in Konut, has received a direct recommendation from the President of South Korea.
Not only to build smelters, MBG Group's investment will expand to other sectors such as shrimp farming, education and training for farmers, as well as sending outstanding local students to higher education in South Korea.
