Antam Targets Rp 12 Trillion Sales This Year

INDUSTRY.co.id - Jakarta - PT Aneka Tambang Tbk or Antam targets this year's sales gain of Rp12 trillion.

"Gold is still the biggest contribution to Antam's sales, which this year is 24 tons of gold will be sold with estimated production from Pongkor and Cibaliung mines of 2 tons," said Arie Prabowo Arieotedjo President Director after the launch of Special Imprint Gold Chinese New Year Edition 2569 in Jakarta , Thursday (18/1/2018).

He is optimistic that gold sales can be realized well this year, without any new export market. Currently, Antam's gold exports are conducted to countries such as Japan, Singapore and Thailand.

To boost gold sales, the company plans to cooperate with business actors with reseller concept. Before starting the cooperation, management will test the ability of how much gold is sold by prospective partners.

In 2017, Antam projects sales achievement above Rp10 trillion or greater than last year's realization of Rp9.1 trillion. Al results, net profit is also expected to grow over the past year.

"Last year, we managed to sell 11.7 tons of gold or equivalent to Rp 7 trillion," he continued.

He continued, sales of gold during 2017 is mostly done in the domestic market. While gold production in Pongkor and Cibaliung mines in that year as much as 1.9 tons.

On the same occasion, Marketing Director Tatang Hendra added, Antam will launch two batik series this year.

"This is considering the success of the sale of batik gold bars a few years ago, in the future, this gold batik batik will have better quality and production," said Tatang. (imq)
