RI-Japan Agree on Port of Patimban Subang Settlement Next Year

INDUSTRY.co.id - Bogor- Indonesia and Japan agreed to the completion of the Patimban Port project in Subang, West Java, which is targeted to be completed next year.
Minister of Transportation Budi Karya Sumadi after accompanying President Jokowi when receiving Delegation of Special Envoy of Japanese Prime Minister Toshihiro Nikai and entourage at the Presidential Palace of Bogor, Friday (19/1/2018) said the completion of Patimban Port project is done very intensively.
"And we are working very intensively, we even talked about Japan recognizing this Patimban project with speed one third of the usual speed, so that means very fast, if the other is three years, this year, insha Allah next year is ready," he said.
The plan of Port Patimban will begin operation in March 2019.
"For that we work simultaneously, is determining the operator," he said.
The operator is a combination of Indonesia and Japan with the majority share of Indonesia so that with the later existence of red and white stock then Indonesia can determine the operation of the company.
Patimban own said Budi Karya will be developed as a port with a capacity of more than 7 million TEUs while container field in it covering 35 hectares.
Prior to being designated as a substitute port of Cilamaya, the Ministry of Transportation designed the Patimbang Port as a regional feeder port.
