INDUSTRY.co.id - Jakarta - The Ministry of Transportation will give strict sanctions to the online four-wheeled public transportation if it violates the Ministerial Regulation No. 108 of 2017 which regulates the procedures for the Implementation of Transport of People with Public Vehicles Not in the Route.
"PM 108 2017 came into effect on February 1, 2018. Since then if there are no online taxis that meet the requirements then we will act firmly," said Transport Ministry Sub-Directorate of People Transport Ministry, Syafrin Liputo, in a discussion titled "Indonesian Transportation Society: Discussion Regulatory Orientation Taxi Online ", in Jakarta, yesterday.
According Safrin, the requirements in question is the imperative of online taxi vehicle to conduct vehicle eligibility tests (KIR), SIM A General and install a sticker as an online taxi.
The government itself has given about 2.5 months since the PM was issued for socialization and adjustment of each taxi operator online.
He explained that on February 1-15 it was conducted as a sympathetic period, in which if a violation was detected it would be given a warning, to immediately meet the requirements set.
"After that or from February 16, the period of light criminal acts will be given, if there is still a violation, it will be given a sanction in the form of a ticket to hold the vehicle, the threat of revoking the license of the driver's license," he told the media crew.
After that if it is known to still be a violation, it is not impossible that the operating license of the company or cooperative that overshadowed the online tax was revoked by first coordinating with the Ministry of Communications and Informatics.
In order to control, said Safrin, his side will cooperate with the Police, Transportation Agency and Ministry of Communications and Informatics, so that really supervision is done thoroughly.
"Our officers could be disguised as consumers, and Police and Transportation Department may be responsible for managing traffic," he said.
This strict sanction applies to all regions of Indonesia that apply special rental vehicles.
"All the same, PM 108 is valid from 1 February 2018. Which does not meet our stipulations," he said.
According to Ministry of Transportation records, currently there are 12 regions that have submitted quotas to apply special leases, namely Jabodetabek under the Road Transportation Management Agency (BPTJ), West Java, Central Java, East Java, Aceh, North Sumatra, West Sumatra, Sumatra South, Lampung, Bengkulu, East Kalimantan, South Sulawesi.
The total quota proposed by the 12 provinces reached 83,906 vehicles.
Jabodetabek proposed the largest vehicle quota of 36,510 vehicles, followed by West Java proposed 15,418 vehicles, Lampung 8,000 vehicles, South Sulawesi 7,000 vehicles, Central Java 4,935 vehicles, East Java 4,445 vehicles, North Sumatera 3,500 vehicles, to the smallest Bengkulu proposing 250 vehicles.
However Safrin regretted from the total filing of 83,906 vehicles, only 1,710 vehicles were eligible to obtain a passenger operating license.
Especially in Jabodetabek, from the submission of the quota of 36,510 vehicles, only 878 vehicles passed KIR test and got operating license.
"It is still very small who pass the permit, most likely still reluctant to test KIR and not willing to follow the requirement to put sticker online transport in the vehicle," he said.
Even so, it will still wait for the entrepreneurs or cooperatives who want the vehicle to get the operating license.
