INDUSTRY.co.id - Palembang - Palembang City Government, South Sumatra plans Gandus industrial estate to be connected with Kayuagung-Palembang-Betung Toll Road access.

Mayor of Palembang Harnojoyo in Palembang on Monday (1/1/20180) said that with this toll road is expected to attract investors to invest in Gandus industrial area of ​​300 hectares.

This location since two years ago has been offered to investors.

"Currently the local government is trying to how to exit Toll can go to industrial area Gandus," said Harnojoyo.

He said the municipal government has projected two industrial estates that will be developed in the future ie, industrial area Gandus which is a new town project and industrial area of ​​Keramasan.

"However, the nearest focus is on industrial areas in Gandus and the city government is currently trying to provide road access, in addition to land, in which there will be factories, warehouses, offices, employee housing, and others," he said.

Palembang desire to establish this industrial area has been supported by the Ministry of Industry because in this city there has been no downstream industrial area and assembly.

To that end, the municipal government plans the development of an independent industrial area that has a power plant, sewerage and waste water network, and settlements to support the needs of the workforce.

Related to the supporting infrastructure, currently the municipal government has built water treatment plant (ipa) in Gandus to support the establishment of this industrial area, and road.

Establishment of industrial area is expected to offset the economic growth of Palembang City is moving rapidly since hosting the SEA Games in 2011.

In addition, the momentum to host the Asian Games XVIII 2018 should be maximized to encourage other sectors.
