INDUSTRY.co.id - Jakarta - Head of Investment Coordinating Board (BKPM) Thomas Trikasih Lembong asked e-commerce entrepreneurs to update and submit their reports regarding their investment status in the country. This is to facilitate BKPM to register e-commerce companies.
During this time it has difficulty registering the status and classify investments in the e-commerce sector. Therefore, the company should submit its latest report to BKPM.
"We need an e-commerce company like Go-Jek, Grab, Traveloka, to submit the latest report on investment status, unfortunately we have been informed by the media," he said at BKPM building recently.
According to him, the phenomenon of e-commerce and startup just emerging and developing in the last two years. Previously, the scale of the investment is still small, but suddenly the figure jumped into billions of US dollars.
"We are like being chased, because this phenomenon only existed two years ago, and now it's very fast, so it's quite difficult," he said.
Total investment estimated in e-commerce and startup companies reached USD4, 8 billion. This figure is almost half of the investment figure in oil and gas sector which reached USD9 billion during 2017.
"Total investment in e-commerce and startup is almost half of oil and gas investment, with growth of 30% -50% per year," said Lembong.
