INDUSTRY.co.id - Jakarta - PT Waskita Karya (Persero) Tbk is optimistic that all national strategic projects being undertaken by the company can be completed on time.

"It is still a 'schedule' and with more attention to aspects of 'safety', quality, safety and security procedures," said President Director of Waskita Karya Tbk, M. Choliq in an official statement in Jakarta, Wednesday (14/2/2018)

He said that the company currently has 1,315 km of toll roads in Java and Sumatra, both as contractors and investors. It is expected that in the first half of 2018, 564 km will be operational and the rest will operate in the second half of 2018 and 2019.

He said that one of the national strategic projects undertaken by the company is the construction of Sumatra Transmission 500 kV along the 395 km stretching from New Aur Duri to Peranap. The project is started in 2015 and is targeted to be completed by 2019 with a contract value of Rp6.1 trillion.

"Development progress now is 49.7 percent for package I, and 47.5 percent for package II. The project is being built to support the electrification distribution program in Sumatera Island," he explained.

He added that the next national strategic project built by Waskita Karya is the LRT line of South Sumatra. The project is the only assignment from the government through Presiden Decree no.116 of 2015 on the Acceleration of Light Rail Operation in South Sumatra Province.

"This project was built to support the implementation of ASIAN GAMES 2018 with a contract value of Rp10.9 trillion and is targeted to operate in 2018 prior to the 2018 ASIAN GAMES," he said.
