Defense Industrialization Will Help Economic Growth

INDUSTRY.co.id - Jakarta - The Board of Trustees of the National Private Defense Industry Association (Pinhantanas), Conie Rahakundini Bakrie said that so far the space for the National Private Defense Industry could be accommodated by relying on law No. 16 of 2012 on Defense Industry.

"Especially articles 43 and 44 stating that users must use the Defense and Security Device (Alpalhankam) domestic production," said Conie in Jakarta, Wednesday (21/2/2018).

Beyond that, budget blocking through Domestic Financing (PDN) that has been allocated by the government reaches Rp15 trillion for the period 2015-2019. However, until 2017 is still remaining Rp9 trillion.

"This indicates there are still many needs that have not been explored optimally, because the allocation of NOP is not channeled to our defense industry to the maximum," added Conie.

In fact, continued Conie, the purpose of the state to support the industrialization of defense and security is to enable the development of sustainable security defense capabilities.

In addition, defense industrialization will also foster economic growth, pivot for the development of innovation and technology, and lay and strengthen the foundation for the national industry.
