INDUSTRY.co.id - Jakarta - Finance Minister Sri Mulyani said the government has a dilemma in making regulations related to the digital economy between opening the space of innovation and safeguarding the public interest.
"We are looking for a balance point between giving freedom and keeping the public interest to then create rules that can reflect that," said Sri Mulyani in a seminar in Jakarta, Wednesday (21/2/2018)
Sri Mulyani assess the government's response to the development of digital technology needs to pay attention to equal opportunities for every society.
This is done through allocation mechanisms in the budget policy to create a relatively level playing field.
"The government strives to open the widest space of innovation and creativity, including not bothering from the side of the bureaucracy," said Sri Mulyani to the media crew.
However, he said, on the one hand the government also realizes that every human being has an instinct that can harm other people, whether in the form of greed or moral hazard concerns.
The digital economy policy makers also face the challenge of always pursuing technological developments that are often faster than the regulatory process.
"Just want to make the draft PMK (regulation of the Minister of Finance) appear again the other. This is like a continuous race," said Sri Mulyani.
